Valuing Relationships Over Transactions

While both of us started our careers working at a Wall Street firm, we knew we had to explore better options for our clients. We wanted an independent and entrepreneurial place to do business.

Now, our business is all about relationships - understanding what a client wants, providing individualized solutions to help them achieve it, and helping them through the emotional rollercoaster that comes with traversing the markets.

Your financial journey is a personal one, so let’s keep it that way.

Meet the Team

Cortney (Cory) Kitchen

Partner

After graduating from Anderson University, Cory started his journey in the financial industry at PaineWebber’s Fort Wayne office from 1993 to 2005. He then co-founded Capital Advisory Partners, LLC in September 2005 alongside his business partner Steve.

Cory has enjoyed helping his clients navigate the financial markets ever since — it’s never dull and each new day brings its own set of challenges and opportunities. He looks forward to the daily interactions with his clients and loves getting to know them on a personal level.

When he’s not helping people with their finances, Cory enjoys spending time with his wife of over 28 years, Gina, and their two daughters Karsyn and Kendal. He loves keeping weekends busy with vacations, sporting events, concerts and teeing off on the golf course.

Steve Van Wyngarden

Partner

After graduating with a Finance Degree from Indiana University, Steve joined PaineWebber from 1992 to 2005. He co-founded Capital Advisory Partners, LLC with Cory in September 2005.

Steve enjoys meeting new clients and collaborating together to help achieve their financial goals. He finds the best part of his job when business relationships that last over 20 years turn into lifelong friendships. He feels his strength in numbers and his calm composure makes him a trusted advisor to his clients.

In his free time, Steve enjoys attending Indiana University football games and other sporting events, trying out new restaurants and playing golf. He also loves spending time with Kacey, his wife of over 31 years and their two children Ryan and Katelyn. Steve currently serves on the board for Messiah Lutheran Church and The Lutheran Foundation.
